It's Our Turn to Help Rebecca Buehler

Donation protected

For more than a decade, Rebecca Buehler has been helping riders and horses of all ages build their self-confidence and reach new goals. Rebecca’s talent lies in her unique combination of experience, skill, calming influence, and lifelong love of horses. As an equestrian teacher and trainer from the Pacific Northwest, Rebecca is committed to building happy, confident riders and horses.

If you are one of the many people Rebecca has helped, this is your chance to help her.

Rebecca was in a serious car accident on her way home from a Christmas trip to her childhood home of Seeley Lake, Montana. Just outside of Ritzville, WA, her truck hit icy slush and she slid into deep snow, rolling several times, and launching her two dogs into a field before coming to a stop.

Thankfully, Rebecca survived and her beloved dogs Mozzie and Lizzy were found happy and healthy 24 hours later. Unfortunately Rebecca now has a long road to recovery. She was transported by ambulance to the Ritzville hospital and then later transferred to Providence Neurology, Neurosurgery and Spine in Spokane. She spent three nights in the hospital and was released into the care of her doctors at home after having several specialists examine her and determine she has hairline fractures in the C1 and C7 vertebrae in her neck and a severely broken left arm (surgery on her arm will have to wait until more swelling goes down).

Doctor’s estimate Rebecca won’t be able to fully return to her physically demanding job for months. We hope that she can resume teaching sooner than that, but it is too early to know how long her recovery will take.

Significant out-of-pocket medical bills are piling up and her truck was totaled and will have to be replaced. Rebecca’s kind and generous approach to people and animals has blessed so many of us and now it’s our turn to help her by contributing toward her unexpected medical expenses. Money raised will be used to pay for:

- Two ambulance rides
- Three nights in the hospital
- Multiple specialist doctor examinations
- CT scans, extensive X-rays, and other medical tests
- Reset of medical deductible on January 1st ($7000)
- Likely future expenses:
Surgery on her arm after the swelling goes down
Follow-up visits to the doctor’s office
          Visits to physical therapy specialists

Any money that we raise that exceeds Rebecca’s significant medical expenses will be used as a down payment on a vehicle to replace the one that was totaled in the accident.

Together we can help Rebecca recover financially so she can focus on her physical recovery and get back to the business of helping those of us lucky enough to work with her and call her friend. Please share with folks whom we may have missed and check back weekly for updates on Rebecca’s recovery. Thank you!
