It's NOT Willow's time yet!

Hi friends,

After celebrating a big, big birthday in March, our dear Willow's health has declined rapidly in the past week. The vet, who has cared for her for many years, suggested putting her down yesterday (Friday, April 7) when my mom brought her in in the morning. She had lost all color in her mouth (gums and tongue) and her eyes were black (not amber like usual).
My mom set an appointment to return later in the day, and I left work early. I went to my mom's to spend our last hours with her.
When I arrived, she was bouncing around, eating and super-excited to see me. The color started returning to her membranes and WE KNEW IT WAS NOT HER TIME TO GO.
She's way overdue for a comprehensive blood test and I want the vet to see if there's anything amiss (which I'm sure there is) that we can address with supplements or an antibiotic or something.
I started using toddler diapers for her at night because she's peeing uncontrollably while she sleeps... Incontinence or an infection?? And she had really, really puffy bags under eyes last weekend. I thought it was allergies and the bags went away after a couple Benadryl. But is it an infection in her mouth??
I AM BESIDE MYSELF WITH SADNESS.
I simply can't give up without a fight. I started a new job a month ago after being let go from another "newish" job... and things haven't normalized yet so I'm very short on money. I'm sick to think that my job transition will get in the way of doing minimal/non-invasive testing to see if we can make the rest of Willow's life as good as the past 12 years.
I adopted Willow from the Humane Society of Broward County in May 2005. She was eight weeks and less than 10 pounds. She's been my mom's best friend and my best friend for more than a decade. Please help us give her another chance with funds to pay for an appointment for testing and treatment on Monday (April 10). My mom, Foley and I will be eternally grateful for your kindess. Thank you from the bottom of my #dogmom heart.

With gratitude,
Galena
