Irina's Hope against Cancer
Donation protected
My name is Irina Lejniece and I have been living in Ireland since 2000 I am a mother of two beautiful boys. In April 2014 I was diagnosed with Ocular Melanoma. I had treatment in Liverpool in September 2014. But now unfortunately I was diagnosed with Metastatic Ocular Melanoma which means the cancer is now incurable and at stage 4. I was prescribed immunotherapy drug Keytruda which I have been told is working to shrink some tumours but unfortunately many other tumours are growing. I have a lot of metastatic cancer and my options are extremely limited because this type of cancer is so rare and the way it has spread is even rarer. I would like to raise funds so that I can look at doing treatments that I believe with keep me here with my 2 young boys for as long as possible but they are not available in mainstream medicine. I would like to look at the possibility of doing more targeted immunotherapy abroad possibly in Germany and also adding some complimentary therapies like IV Vitamin C and whatever therapies I can find for my kind of cancer. After immunotherapy Keytruda I have been told chemotherapy is not effective for this type of cancer. This situation is very hard but I still have a hope, so I am calling for your support in any way to help me stay with my boys for as long as possible.
Thank you for reading my story.
