VYO International Orchestra Tour
Donation protected
My name is Jing Yi Lovick, music has transformed my life. My goal is to be a world class cellist. Currently, I am a cellist for the Vermont Youth Orchestra in Colchester, Vermont. I travel to the Elly-Long Music Center and back for our three hour orchestra rehearsals every Sunday. When I have performances, I travel twice a week. Our conductor, Dr. Benjamin Klemme makes playing with the VYO both challenging and fun: it gives me great joy to play my cello with the VYO. He says of me, " “[Jing Yi] leads her peers by example, and takes a contagiously positive approach to music making.…It is a delight to teach Jing Yi, and I am very glad that she plans to participate in our 2019 trip to Spain and Portugal. Her impact on our musical success will be immense.”
Every four years the VYO takes an international tour. I am raising these funds to pay for my expenses so I can tour with my orchestra. The expense of this trip is beyond the means of our family. As an aspiring cellist who is passionate about music, this is an opportunity of a lifetime to play internationally. After high school, I hope to attend The Juilliard School for music performance in New York City.
As you can imagine, it is expensive to participate in an international trip such as this. I need to raise $4000. It will mean very much to me to have your support, as I will not be able to have this chance to enrich my life without tremendous financial support. Any contribution you make will be helpful; know that your generosity is deeply appreciated. Thank you for supporting me so I can play my cello with the VYO on tour this summer.
