Injured Tree Worker Accident

Eddie Wood's Story:

A fellow tree worker and a very close friend was just seriously injured in an accident earlier this week.  He is still hospitalized after falling 30-40 feet and breaking parts in his back and pelvis.  He is extremely lucky to be alive, and at this point his future is indefinite.  From what I understand he could be in the hospital for a month maybe longer.
So for those of you don't know Eddie.  He is highly skilled at his craft for Tree Climbing/Trimming and takes great pride in, not only doing high-quality work but doing it in the safest most proficient way possible.  He has over 15+ years experience in the tree care industry and is an ISA certified arborist.  He is not just a Tree Arborist and friend but also a loving father, brother, and son. He also has four other "fur children", that are also the loves of his life.

Eddie does not just provide high-quality work but is what you would consider a "high-quality" friend. He goes above and beyond for ones he holds close. He is someone you can trust and defines the word "loyal". If you ever would be in need and honestly for any reason, there is no question as he would be there. It wouldn't matter the dollar amount or length of time, he would make it happen to lessen your stress load. He may seem quiet to those who don't know him personally, but he is one of the most open and honest people that one could ever meet. The term "big-hearted" doesn't even come close to fit his style, it is something that he doesn't have to talk about or express it is a natural part of who he is. He can make you smile or laugh till you cry without much effort.  Which is something he tries to hide that big heart of his with, as he, in my opinion, is unaware of what he brings to the table as a friend and doesn't want anyone to worry or take care of him. I have no doubt to all those reading this that know Eddie, wouldn't deny any of this for a second, maybe even say that this isn't enough definition to this man.  So, please for those of you who know Eddie, lets pool together and help lessen his stress load for once. Also, those of you who don't know Eddie please and thank you for your generosity, I can guarantee he is and will be forevery grateful. I wouldn't doubt that he wouldn't even try to contact each and everyone to express that, as this is also hard for him to be on the receiving end for help, he takes pride in his independence and is proud to be the one needed, not the other way around. So again, thank you thank you for those that have read this and even if you cannot donate, please pass this on and share it over and over again!

"The Accident"
From what I understand they were doing a tree removal & they set up a zip line which is tied into the higher part of the tree, and then usually run through a pulley at a lower point on the ground. The tension is then controlled by the lower end of the rope.  In some situations, this is where the rope is attached to a mini skid and the tension is adjusted by simply moving the machine forward or in reverse.  Limbs are then rigged with small slings attached to pulleys and onto the zip line.  Once they are cut the limbs glide down the zip line to a safe location.
My understanding is that the zip line was set up to do a tree removal over a roof that was level with the ground.  Eddie was in the top of the tree, tied into the tree at two separate points(as this is the safest way to operate, having a plan B if one tie fails).  The ground guys, who were operating the machine on the ground level, apparently over tightened the zip line, ripping the whole top of the tree out, including both of his tie in points.  Worst of all causing Eddie to fall with the top of the tree 30-40 feet onto the top of the roof and breaking his back and pelvis.   I can keep you updated as I learn more.
The reason I created this go fund me, is because Eddie is not the type of guy to ask for help as previously stated, but he would give you the shirt off of his back. I know he could really use a helping hand right now being that he will be out of work for some time.   It would be much appreciated for any help or even just sharing with someone who can.  Thank you!!!!

Here are just some pictures to show his work of art and the link just below shows how he is generous and loves to help without asking for anything in return. Also, you can see pictures of things that make Eddie happy in life, such as his children, dogs, friends, and family.
