Indigenous Relief Fund

Tax deductible
Indigenous Relief Fund by Assyrian Aid Society of America

The Assyrian people are facing persecution from ISIS in their homeland of the Nineveh Plains and throughout the Middle East, not only for their Christian faith, but also their historical legacy as the indigenous people of the region. With your help, and under the direction of the Assyrian Aid Society of America (AAS-A), we can continue to bring relief to Assyrians who who are forced to rebuild their war-torn communities from the ground up.

Assyrian Aid Society of America (AAS-A) aims to advance its efforts to provide Assyrians, and other indigenous people of present-day Iraq and Syria, with relief during this time of crisis.

Through the Indigenous Relief Fund, AAS-A will provide humanitarian aid in the form of food, education, public works, child care, and medical resources for Assyrians in stable zones, and for refugees and displaced families in distressed regions.

Now is as important as ever to support indigenous people facing persecution and genocide at the hands of ISIS and other radical groups throughout the Middle East. Mass executions, destruction of cultural artifacts, and forced conversion from Christianity are threatening the already depleted populations of Assyrians. These atrocities are crimes against all humanity.

Your donation to the Indigenous Relief Fund will go directly to AAS-A, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and is 100% tax deductible. As of the latest figures from AAS-A in 2015, 95 cents of every dollar donated went directly to humanitarian projects. Your contribution is greatly appreciated.

Ancient Assyrian History

“The Assyrians originated between the Tigris and the Euphrates rivers in what is now modern-day Iraq, and they are among the indigenous peoples in present-day Iraq, northwestern Iran, northeastern Syria, and southeastern Turkey. Contemporary Assyrians are direct descendants of the Ancient Assyrian race from the upper Tigris River in Iraq. Through geological and archeological discoveries, the existence of the ancient Assyrian civilization has been proven through the findings of old documentation, ancient artifacts, sculptures, palaces, and portions of ancient cities.

The Assyrian Empire was the first documented civilization. It was located in Assyria (Mesopotamia), which is widely known as the cradle of civilization. Different segments of Assyrians (Assyrians, Sumerians, Akkadians, and Babylonians) ruled the empire, and Assyrians as a whole excelled in the development of advanced agriculture and mathematics and the creation of a system of governance, a code of laws, the first library, scientific medicine, architecture, a practical system of writing such as pictographs and cuneiform, and the most advanced military of its time.”
