In The Loving Memory of Gracie King

$73,223 of $60,000 goal

It's with the heaviest heart that I am setting up this GoFundMe on behalf of my friend, children's lit author A.S. King.

On Saturday, December 1st, the Kings experienced the unexpected loss of their beautiful daughter Gracie. At this time, the family needs the support of their community at large for medical bills, funeral services, and other relevant expenses. All money raised here will go directly to the King family.

Please share this request widely, and give what you can. On behalf of Amy, Topher and their daughter Livy, thank you for your support and allowing time for the family to privately grieve.

With love,

e.E. Charlton-Trujillo

This has been an incredibly difficult week for the King Family, their community, and for all those who have known and loved the brilliant spirit of Gracie King. It's just what's real. But in all of this pain and heartache, there has also been an unimaginable outpouring of love. From comments on Facebook, Twitter, the obituary and here, you and so many others have shown The King Family they are not alone in their loss. That is a comfort like so few.

Amy and the family would like to extend their appreciation for those who, in lieu of flowers for the service, made donations in Gracie’s memory to The Jason Foundation or The Trevor Project. They picked these groups because of their dedication to helping young people like Gracie stay with us.

Again, thank you for holding this family up. Thank you for reaching out.

With Gratitude,
e.E. Charlton-Trujillo

On behalf of the King family, I want to thank every single person who has supported them with comments and/or contributions. For all of you who have shared this GoFundMe four thousand times from this page alone. It is no small thing to see the community come together for Amy and her family. It is everything.

The next part of this update is so incredibly hard for me. Below is the link to beautiful Gracie's obituary. All information about visiting hours and the service are there.

For those of you who cannot attend but would like to send cards to the family, please message me for an address.

Again, thank you for your love and compassion for the King family.

With Gratitude,
e.E. Charlton-Trujillo

Thank you everyone for your kindness, love, compassion and support for the King family. As we have nearly approached our initial goal, the family has asked me to extend the goal. This will enable them to get through some very difficult months ahead.

I will be posting about the service later this evening. Please feel free to message me with questions while the family continues to insulate themselves a bit longer.

With gratitude,
e.E. Charlton-Trujillo
