In Mrs. Eddy's Memory...

On Wednesday, October 17, 2018 our mother Catherine DeForge Eddy took her final breath at the UVM Medical Center, surrounded by loved ones, and holding the hands of her two children. 

Cathie suffered many ailments over the years that sent her in and out of nursing homes, rehabilitation, and extended hospital stays, but ultimately a broken heart concluded her time with her children, and sent her to be with her beloved husband, Gerald, whom she lost unexpectedly 8 months prior.

Mom worked for many years as a registrar and school secretary at Winooski School District, where she impacted the lives of many colleagues and students. We are so grateful for the flooding of comments and beautiful remembrances posted of Mom. We know that she will be eternally missed, but that her memory will live on in all the lives that she touched.

Mom raised us to be of service to others, to never ask for help, and to unite and come together in times of loss and sadness. While my brother and I are trying to put on a brave face, the emotional turmoil of grieving the loss both parents, along with the financial burden, we must ask our community, our friends, and our family for support.
