Suzanne has asked me to share that there has been a change of venue for after the service. This has been updated below in the information but we just wanted to make it obvious that there has been a change to the funeral detailed further down.

"After the service at the Priory we will all be going to the Gregson as it’s a place we all love and know so well. There’s an abundance of pay and display parking behind Dalton Square and Nelson street next to the town hall. Our advice is to park there and walk up to the Gregson as all the streets by the venue are resident permit. For anyone coming from out of town - The Priory Church is a stone’s throw from the train station and a 5 min walk from The Gregson ( be warned- we have hills). If anyone needs an overnight stop and doesn’t have a hotel- give me a shout and I’ll try to put you in touch with a host. We look forward to seeing you there "

The service will take place at Lancaster Priory Church on Wednesday May 2nd at 12pm. Please be there for 11.45. You are all welcome. There will be a final committal at the Crematorium at 1.30pm for family and close friends. We are currently organising the ‘knees up’, which will be at The Gregson.

Please, as distressing as this is for all, we want this to be a celebration of this wonderful human life, so please bring your best singing voice and stories to share.

We would rather no one wears black, but please wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Something red would be magic. Manchester United and Lancaster City shirts too please, as he loved them NEARLY as much as he loved us.

Please could I ask though that no one sends any more flowers to the house (we love the cards), as beautiful as they are, they are so expensive and they fade away. A single flower with a little note to place on the coffin would be beautiful x

The very tragic news is now spreading far and wide that our truly amazing friend Rob Tomlinson very suddenly died on Saturday 14th April. Funeral plans are still being arranged, and any updates regarding locations and times will be posted by Suzanne, Jay and Rob's sister Phillipa on Facebook and on this page.

As everyone knows so well, Rob was utterly devoted to Suzanne, Rory & Jay. Rob's death is beyond comprehension for all his family and friends, not only his Mum, Dad & sister Phillipa but the absolutely incredible network of people who loved him! Everyone from Northallerton, Lancaster, his MUFC & Lancaster City family, VW Clubs, work... the list goes on and on.

There has been numerous emails, texts and messages from people asking how to help, so here it is!

This campaign has been created by a group of Rob's friends as a way not only to keep everyone up-to-date with plans, and also offer a place for messages but also to allow people to help keep Rob's legacy alive and support Suzanne and the family with everything from the financial burden of funeral plans to vitally keeping Rob's MUFC Season Ticket so that Rory can keep the going to the games, something that created such a strong bond between them both.

If you would like to donate, just click on the donate button and donate whatever you can. If you are not able to donate don’t forget you can still leave messages and comments for Suzanne the boys and his loving Yorkshire family to read.

Also, make sure you follow this page so that you receive any updates regarding the funeral.
