Joannie Rios dances through our hearts and our memories. We can still picture her joyful smile, her kind demeanor, and hear her childish laughter.
In December, Joannie's parents were confronted with a series of perplexing symptoms seemingly without cause or connection. As the weeks progressed, Joannie's condition deteriorated and showed signs of a rare disease. Neuromyelitis optica (NMO) is "a central nervous system disorder that primarily affects the eye nerves (optic neuritis) and the spinal cord (myelitis)." This condition resulted in her continued hospitalization. We will always remember you, beautiful angel.
The funds collected will help the family cope with this difficult time. Joannie's parents have been with her at the hospital since day one. Family, friends and their church community provide continued support. She left behind her 12 year old sister, mom and dad. Please help us give back to this family just like the happiness their daughter has given us. May you Rest In Peace, little angel!
