In memory of Dolly Koltchev

It is with deep personal regret that I inform you of the death of our dear friend and NJ LES Chapter Program Chair, Dr. Dolly Koltchev. Dolly died after a long struggle with pancreatic cancer. Each of us grieves not only at the passing of a wonderful human being but also for the loss that her family has suffered.

Dolly was the mastermind of the NJ Chapter events for the last two years and her tenacity and perseverance was an inspiration for those of us that worked close to her. We were lucky to benefit from Dolly’s extensive experience as a scientific conference producer and her wide network in government, academia and the life sciences industries. Dolly earned her BS and PhD in Molecular Biology from Bulgaria Academy of Sciences, Institute of Molecular Biology and had a successful career as a researcher and conference producer. We deeply appreciate Dolly’s contributions to our chapter and will miss her profoundly.

Dolly is survived by her husband Alexander Koltchev and her daughter Diana Philipova. Prior to her death, Dolly expressed her desire not to have a funeral. She spent the last two months in hospice care at her home in West Windsor. Her family would appreciate if you could contribute to help cover Dolly’s medical expenses in lieu of flowers.

Dolly and I not only shared common professional interests but also our strong commitment to the role of motherhood. I personally want to honor her memory and kindly ask you for your donation.
