Brad’s life was taken at a young age of 26 on the night of January 8, 2019.  Brad was a caring and passionate young man that loved his family.  He was a son, brother, uncle, and friend to many.  His niece and nephews will miss him dearly. Brad was a graduate of Charlotte High School.  Brad suffered from mental illness including depression and schizophrenia but was so excited to be living on his own.  His mother, Roxeann, kept a close eye on him and still helps care for two of his brothers.  She has a very low income and can use all of the help she can get with his unexpected funeral expenses.  No amount is too little.

I haven’t been in contact with the family like I used to but wanted to do something to help them in this unimaginable situation. I have known Brad since he was about nine years old so I’ve seen him growing up over the years. I never thought I’d be writing this for him at 26, we are all going to miss you Brad!

The service has been scheduled for Tuesday 1/15/19 from 4-8p at Thomas Funeral Home at 4545 Lake Ave in Charlotte for all to attend.  If you plan on donating, please do so as soon as you can so we can get the funds to the Funeral Home promptly.  Thank you!

I'm Jeff and as everyone should know I'm Brad's oldest brother. Last night, on 1/15/19 we said goodbye (for now) to a son, brother, uncle and friend. The amount of support that came to the funeral chapel was absolutely amazing. Being embraced and loved by so many friends and family from so many different times throughout life was a great feeling. The love was definitely there and meant so much to not only me, but my family.

I would like to thank everyone that has shown financial support on gofundme and in person. The burden that you have help lift off of my families shoulders is immense. The beautiful ceremony we had last night would have not been possible without your help. It meant everything to me to have each and everyone of you there to celebrate Brad's life. Brad was wrong when he said he didn't have many friends and it showed.

To those who could not make it; we completely understand and know you would be there otherwise. Thanks for all your well wishes.

I would like to thank my friend Mike for starting this gofundme for my family. Mike is a great guy and really cares for those around him. His heart is as big as Brad's was and I think that's why he felt compelled to help.

I want to thank everyone who shared their story with or around brad. Its great to hear how much he meant to everyone and how he was a part of their life.

On another note, justice will hopefully be dealt for my brother, who was murdered by a scared coward who felt he had a license to kill. His day will be coming soon, as a grand jury will hear Brad's story. I hope the jury decides there is enough evidence to charge Mr. Santiago. Brad did not deserve to go out like this and he should pay for his reckless decision to take his life.

Again, thank you EVERYONE for your support. Brad would thank you too!!

RIP my lil bro!!

I've been thinking about Brad and the whole situation a lot since that night. All the memories and how things shouldn't have ended like this... it's so sad. I wish anything would have changed the outcome.
I just looked in the GoFundMe, there have been 265 shares and 1,965 views. Thank you everybody, it is very much appreciated...I think we can do more. Anything anybody can do is appreciated, even if it's only $1 because that's all you can afford, it all helps. If you have venmo or cash we can figure out a way to get it to me or the family. Thank you very much to everybody that has donated/shared and will in the future. Please continue to share anywhere possible.
