In memory of baby Amy Kate

It’s with a heavy heart I write this as many of you know on the 27th of July 2016 our beautiful daughter Amy Kate entered this world sleeping.
Myself and my husband Garry have decided in Amy Kate’s memory we are going to hold a fundraiser in aid of the two charities that have helped us on our heart breaking journey,
S.O.F.T Ireland is a voluntary group founded in Ireland 25 years ago to provide support for families with children with chromosome disorder’s Trisomy 13 & 18, S.O.F.T. put families in touch with other families who had lost their child, and provides information and funds bereavement counselling.
Feileacain was formed by a group of bereaved parents who supported each other after the loss of their own babies and have now come together to formally offer support to other parents and families that find themselves bereaved through stillbirth or neonatal death, They host regular support meetings nationwide. And only since July 2012 Feileacain have started supplying all maternity hospitals in the country with cuddle cots that were fundraised for by bereaved parents and families . They also supply memory boxes to each hospital which are to be given as a keepsake to the bereaved parents.
We were fortunate enough to be able to bring our little girl home with us on the Thursday and we had the most precious time from Thursday to Saturday with Amy Kate, this was due to Feileacain who organized and provided us with one of their 4 floating cuddle cot’s.
A cuddle cot is a cold mat that is temperature regulated that is placed into a crib or mosses basket, without this cuddle cot we would never have been allowed this precious time we had with Amy Kate
We are hoping through a gofundme page and through other fund raising events throughout this year to raise enough money to donate a cuddle cot to Feileacain in memory of Amy Kate and help raise much needed funds for S.O.F.T Ireland.
