In loving memory of Sarah Jones

Hi everyone Firstly I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated to the page that I created after my mum passed away in May this year. Initally this page was created to limit the number of flowers we received, as after loosing Nan so close we simply had no more room for more flowers. However we are now left with lovely words and pictures from those who loved Mom so much. This has been a lovely page to share with our family and friends. We are now left with a huge amount of money, after Rudholm UK have now doubled the final total leaving us with just over £3,500. Those of you who knew my Mom, must of known how special and important my Nan was too her. After the amazing care my beautiful Nan recieved at Good Hope hospital in her last days with us. Mom was planning to make a visit to the ward and to say thank you to the lovely staff. I have been in touch with the staff and brought them a few items for the ward, fans, toasters, kettles, chocolate! Ive been in touch with the ward and we decided the most benifical way to donate to the ward was to create activity boxes full of mindful, stimulating and appropriate activities for the patients during there stay. Alongside a hydration station, ( a new trolley with new cups/mugs and water dispensers juice jugs etc) to promote keeping hydrated during patients stays and for the staff who work tirelessly to provide the best care. With the added support from the Good Hope Palliative care and MacMillan team. We are also donating 250 pound to the wonderful teams that were key to making my Nan feel so comfortable and a huge support to my Grandad and the rest of our family. Recently our family have continued with this rollercoaster supporting my Grandad during his own journey with cancer. If my Mom was still here I know she would be doing her upmost to support him so as her daughter I can only try my very best as I've been taught by the very best. Although cancer has such a prevalent support, I feel my mom would want me to continue that support during my grandads journey. Therefore we are donating 250 Pound to Cancer Research UK. Some of you may or may not know, my mom passed away with an enlarged heart. Some may say 'how fitting' as she was so loving and giving to all. Although this struck mom so suddenly, we are also donating 250 pound too the British Heart Foundation. I really hope this raises awareness, as after doing my research i've learnt that there are so many things that can be done to support people with this diagnosis - the key being it needs to be diagnosed. My Mom had no obvious symptoms and I wouldn't wish this heartache on anyone so a trip to the doctors is so worth it! There will be picture to follow I am awaiting delivery of cheques and will be delivering items to Good Hope hospital fittingly around Mom's birthday next week. The rest of the money we are leaving to one side for a short while we are awaiting confirmation of a memorial bench or will be putting the rest of the money towards Moms headstone when we are able to.
