In loving memory of Remi Okoh

My younger sister passed away in her sleep at the age of 41 on August 10, 2019. Unfortunately, she did not have a life insurance policy. Funeral donations are being collected through this Go Fund Me page in memory of our beloved sister, Eyvonne Remilekun ('Remi") Nkemdilim Okoh.
Remi was the second of 3 daughters born to John and B. Oby Okoh (deceased). While our mother was pregnant with Remi, our maternal grandfather passed away in Nigeria. For this reason our mother was unable to travel back to Nigeria to bury her father. Hence, Remi was given the name "Remilekun" at birth, which means 'consolation' in the Yoruba language.
Remi was famously known for the dimples on her cheeks whenever she smiled. She was very pretty! Children, women and men alike were drawn to Remi like a magnet. Those of you who were blessed to have known Remi know what a caring, kind and loving soul she was.
As a child, Remi would always pet and look after the little children in the neighborhood as if they were her own. As a teenager and young adult, she mentored a small crew of young girls at Church of the Living God (Hyattsville, MD) whom she took under her wings. She would cook mini hot dogs and prepare snacks for them, style their hair, take them out to the movies and apply their makeup for prom and high school senior pictures. Remi was a natural-born caregiver. As such, she pursued a career in healthcare as a geriatric home health aide.
Remi leaves behind her father - John Okoh, 2 sisters - Michelle (Onyeka) & Faith Okoh, and 2 beautiful nieces - Larissa & Naomi Nwokobia, both of whom Remi absolutely loved and adored! Remi was such a loving and proud auntie. She will be greatly missed by all.
All funds from this Go Fund Me will be used to assist our family to cover Remi's funeral expenses and any unforeseen costs related to her passing.
