In Loving Memory of Jonathan Thompson

Donation protected
Jonathan Thompson, age 54 lost his courageous fight to cancer last week.  He was a very special guy and someone who made a difference in my life as one of my best friends and next-door neighbors growing up.  Jonathan was so witty and so much fun to be around, I have so many fond memories of laughing with him.

He was a devoted newlywed to his bride Betsy, loving son, amazing brother and the best uncle to his nieces and nephews. He was always so loyal and loving to his friends and family and adored by all.  Everyone who met Jonathan was impressed with his brilliant sense of humor, his incredible vital energy, his artistic talents, his intelligence and passionate joie de vivre.

Jonathan was born in Wales but moved to Westfield, NJ during elementary school and graduated from Westfield High School in 1983.  He was a talented artist and most recently worked as a Production Artist at JP Morgan.  He met Betsy, the love of his life, during their years at Drew university. They had an immediate bond and deep love for each other, and this remains forever. They reunited in 2014 and have been inseparable ever since. They married in October 2018 and then Jonathan sadly was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. Jonathan's strength and courage throughout this past year has been remarkable and inspiring.

It has been an immensely difficult time but Jonathan faced it with bravery and grace with the love and support of Betsy and his adoring mother, sisters and extended family.  Betsy with her total devotion and positive energy has been at his side every step of the way.

As is often the case with fighting cancer, medical bills become huge and overwhelming.  In memory of Jonathan, the family would appreciate any contribution you can make to ease this financial burden of these bills on Betsy.  This support would truly mean the world to Jonathan.  THANK YOU for your generous spirit!
