In loving memory of Hallie Michelle

On Thursday we lost one of our own. Hallie was one of the members of our registration staff on paper, but to us she was a friend, a sister, a daughter. She was the smile that greeted us when we walked in the door at any con we went to; she was the one that loved nerf fights and her (mother’s) zombie baby doll. She was always willing to try new things, and be there when you needed her. Her loss hit all of us hard, but we know she’s going to be with us every step of the way moving forward.

Our convention family came together this weekend to comfort one another in this time of grief, and to be there for Jennifer and Piper.

This weekend reminded us that things can change instantly, and to cherish every moment, so that’s what we did. We laughed and cried and hugged it out together, as a family.

We also know that the loss of a life isn’t just losing a loved one. It can have financial setbacks as well. We put together a fundraiser for Hallie’s family to help them with whatever unexpected financial costs might come up; even if you can’t donate, please share this around.
