Hi everyone. After speaking with Barb, I’m honored to be the person chosen to start this gofundme project to help Barb get through this rough time. Death is never an easy experience to face when it’s a loved family member, and financial restraints make the time even more stressful for too many families, including for Barb in this present time and into the foreseeable future.
Effective immediately, Barb lost the main source of their income with losing Ken’s SS Disabiiity income. She will be able to file for survivors benefits for Zanna and that will provide her with a small monthly income for the next 8 months until Zanna turns 18. We were also advised that Barb won’t be able to collect on Ken’s retirement and SS until she turns 60 which is 6+ years away. Barb’s dog grooming and boarding business has fallen to the side in the recent year, as she has spent her time and focused her energy on caring for Ken, but she fully intends to devote more time to doing this again as soon as she spends some time grieving and taking some time to herself. She loves and misses all her dog friends coming over for sure!
The best way we, as the family and friends of Barb, can take care of her right now, is by making sure she is financially supported through the next few months to give her time to grieve her tremendous loss of Ken, time to revive her business that she loves so much and time to just be available for their children too when they need her.
Anything you can give is appreciated by the family. They thank you from the bottom of their hearts for all of the emotional support so many of you have already sent through your texts, calls and posts. Hearing your stories and seeing the love so many had for Ken helps them through this time very much.
