In Honor of William Stephenson
Donation protected
As you all know by now, our dear friend William Whitfield Stephenson III, aka "Weeeyum", aka "Stevie", has passed away. Eddie Brill and J.R. Havlan have been asked by William's sisters, Cheryl, Lynne and Roxanne, to establish this page with the purpose of assisting William's family with the many costs associated with his passing. Travel is necessary from Detroit for family members to claim and retrieve his belongings and make final arrangements as well as many other various related expenses that your generosity will help the family absorb.
We are also planning to throw two properly funkified celebrations of William's life, one in New York City and another in his birthplace, Detroit. The more we raise, the bigger and funkier the celebration for everybody involved. We would also love to help William's 3 sisters travel back to NYC to attend that party to meet the many people here who loved William, and to hear how positively he affected so many lives.
Finally, you didn't have to know William well to know about his love of music. This love began early in his life but was deepened during his time at Northwestern High School in Detroit - Go Fighting Colts! - where he played the clarinet (yes, clarinet!) the saxophone, and was a drum major in the school marching band.
Long story a little longer, if your generosity exceeds the costs of the planned events and necessities, we intend to use the balance to purchase musical instruments that will be donated to the high school in William's name.
For the record, the money will be collected and distributed by Eddie with full transparency and participation from J.R. as well as William's family.
We all loved William, and even if you didn't love him... you had to love him.
