Kimberly Rodriguez

I am writing and asking for help from family, friends, and kind strangers. My wife Kimberly Rodriguez was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in November 2018. Little did we know that this day would change our lives and future. Kimberly is 43 and a mother of 3 beautiful children; Isaac 17, Isabella 12, and Cristian 12. She is a 4th grade teacher beloved by her students and co workers. She is kind, loving, and big hearted, and has always been willing to help others. Since her diagnosis her condition has deteriorated greatly.  Her Multiple Sclerosis is an aggressive and malignant type only seen in less than 5% of the people affected with this disease. Everything the doctors have done to stop the relapse and attacks on the central nervous system has not worked in stopping the progression. She has multiple lesions on her thoracic and cervical spine that has left her a T9 paraplegic . The cervical spine lesion has caused her to lose function of her right arm and has rendered her left arm with limited function. She is being discharged from the hospital after 46 days and the insurance does not cover in-home care. She is unable to feed herself, is bed bound, and needs to have extensive in-home care. This type of care is extremely costly. We are trying to find help from different avenues but the process is very lengthy. We need immediate help and are asking for your assistance.
