imaginarium needs new home!

Tax deductible

imaginarium: Institute of Fine Arts is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit which has been serving Coalinga and the surrounding area for ten years. We offer art and music classes and exploration for all ages. We also help others along their life paths as they look to improve themselves, work through challenges, and tough spots.

We have had a lovely agreement with the city of Coalinga which allowed us to use a large vacant building for the last decade. That era has come to an end, with rent being tripled and other costs added. So we are finding a new home for our outreach.

We would like to purchase a prime property downtown, large enough to house our classes and performances. it is equal in size to the building we are leaving, but will need some modifications as time goes on. We need to raise the down payment for the property. We hope to gain a grant to finance the bulk of the purchase price, with a clause releasing us from the purchase if we are unable to obtain one within a reasonable time.

We are hoping to raise $25,000 to cover the cost of the down payment. There are two buildings across the street from Frame Park in Coalinga, on the plaza. One is a post earthquake building; formerly may Drug. The other is the building owned by Marc Scott and is now for sale. Either building would be a perfect home for imaginarium.

All donations are completely tax deductible. if you would like more information, photos, etc., please ask.

[Foot note added: Last May, we lost our home for imaginarium. We packed up our tools and materials, instruments and books and have them in storage. We are still sponsoring events and teaching private lessons, but we do not have a home base. In the meantime, we have to pay for our storage which is $240.00 per month. At the same time, we continue to search for a home for our fine arts program.

One option we are exploring is to build our own storage space for many of our supplies and materials. This would save on our monthly storage rental.

There has been a rumor that imaginarium closed its doors. Not True!! We closed THOSE doors, but not the doors to learning and exploring the arts. Be part of our continuing quest to offer something classy and lasting to the children of Coalinga - and anyone else who wants to learn. Lessons for guitar, piano, violin and voice are currently offered.

Your gift or donation is COMPLETELY tax deductible. We are a registered 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization.

Although we have a big goal (as noted) any smaller amount can help us tread water while we find our way. Thank you for sharing in our dreams.]
