Re-Entry Solutions is a 501 (c) 3 Non-Profit organization. We were organized in April of 2010 to provide needed support services in Central Louisiana. Our mission is to coordinate with existing community resources and develop new ones to help break the cycle of return to incarceration.
Our three areas of focus are: Employment, Housing and Restoration of the family. We strive to keep families together whenever possible!
For the past 8 years our organization primarily focused on employment of returning citizens. We have provided services to over 900 returning citizens. We were able to successfully establish a pipeline to employment with many community partners. We successfully conducted mini boot camps teaching job readiness and interviewing skills. We have provided internship for 10 interns from local universities. We were able to assist 49 persons in obtaining TWIC card for offshore hire. We routinely required Work Keys testing for hire and experienced overwhelming success resulting in state and federal programs implementation of our successful model.
Re-Entry Solutions has received numerous awards. Some of our distinguished recognitions include: The LA. Justice Hall of Fame Induction, The Alexandria Human Relations Award and The Secretary of D.O.C. Excellence Award. We were featured on the LA Public Broadcast System (LPB-T.V. program), Featured story in The Rapides Foundation annual report and numerous other magazines and newspaper articles.
Currently, Re-Entry has funding needs for several projects.
1. Re-Entry Solutions is in the preliminary planning stages of our transitional housing complex, A New Beginning Transitional Complex, "A Working and Sober Living Community." This complex will be a safehaven for 62 individuals in CENLA in need of housing, job skills training, case management and substance abuse treatment. Re-Entry Solutions has recieved a $488,000.00 grant from Federal Homeland Bank of Dallas to begin reconstruction of this 5 acer property, however this money will only be enough to assist us with development of Phase I of the complex (transitional housing). With donations from individuals like you, we will be able to complete Phase II of the project which will consist of 12 two bedroom apartments for shared, independent living. Also, these donations will assist with the purchase of furniture and supplies.
2. Re-Entry Solutions is still providing essential support services for individuals returning from incarceration, however, our funding is very limited. With donations from the community, Re-Entry will be able hire more staff to assist those individuals returning from incarceration with case management, assessments, job connecting and readiness and housing assistance.'
