Erin's Victim of Drunk Driving Fund

Erin was the victim of a (suspected) violent crime on November 9th, 2014 at approximately 1:45am (a verdict has not yet been reached). A woman who is believed to have been intoxicated was driving on the WRONG SIDE OF THE EXPRESSWAY and Erin was hit head-on. It is a miracle she is alive.
At the time of the suspected crime, Erin was working as a temporary employee, trying to build her career as a recent Masters graduate of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. As a temporary employee, she has no benefits (although she does have independent catastrophic health insurance) and no income until she is able to return to work. The injuries she sustained as a result of the offender's choice were extreme and have resulted in disability, a long hospital stay, a long projected time in rehab, so-many-surgeries, and very long time of outpatient recovery ahead of her. Her life will never be the same.
Erin made no decision that created this situation. She is an innocent victim. As her family, we do not feel that she should have to worry about how her finances and financial/employment future will be impacted by a crime committed by someone else.
For all of the people that have been such a support during this process, we are so grateful. So many have felt helpless in the face of this tragedy and we are now at a place in the process where there are pragmatic ways in which you can help. Please help us help her get by.
