I love Little Rock

Hello, my name is Tamara Farisa with Balanced Communications.  I am an Arkansas Native and a graduate from Class of 1993 from Parkview High School during the "Banging in Little Rock" days.  Coming from that era, we saw a lot of friends and classmates lose their lives for colors.  However, over the last year, I have personally lost 15 young lives due to the sudden increase in Gang and Gun Violence in the City of Little Rock.  As I watch the local Arkansas News via social media, I see the endless comments from parents, classmates and friends on Facebook as well as the constant cries of the communityfor help or a just moment of peace from all the violence.  My heart was moved to come home and do something and organize a weekend of peace for our youth .

Our city is being affected by the senseless deaths of so many!  So, myself and my team at Balanced Communications have  combined efforts with the City of Little Rock and West Central Sports Complex to come together as a unified body for, “Am I My Brother’s Keeper?” Community Basketball Tournament, June 9-11, 2017.  

The purpose of this tournament is to promote education and participation in youth sports to combat gang and gun violence. 

Our goal is to raise $10,000 for youth sports and programming at West Central Sports Complex located in the John Barrow Area.
