Indonesia's Sunda Strait Tsunami Relief

On Saturday (12/22/2018) at 9:27 p.m. local time, a tsunami struck the coastal areas of Indonesia’s Sunda Strait. The tsunami was caused by an abnormal tidal wave surge due to a full moon and an underwater landslide following the eruption of the Anak Krakatau volcano.
Based on the latest information from the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), as of 31 December 2018 at 13:30 local time, the death toll has reached 437, with 14,059 people injured, 16 people missing, and 33,719 people sought safety and shelter away from their houses.
Pandeglang regency in Banten, a popular tourist destination, was the worst-hit area. Other regencies hit by the tsunami are Serang in Banten and South Lampung in Lampung. In the latter, the four worst-hit sub-districts are Kalianda, Rajabasa, Sidomulyo and Katibung.
