March 24, 2018

My husband has had stomach pain for over a year now.  As the pain became more progressive  Jason and I increased our visit to his PCP.  During this year blood tests were done, he was checked for stomach issues by colonoscopy, endoscopy and ultrasound  in the region where his abdominal pain is.  During this year he also found out he has an extensive hereditary prostate cancer history on his father's side.  A Prostate cancer test was performed as well with a blood test. Jason's personal care provider informed us none of the tests were positive, all test results were negative.  At this point pain was still increasing and pain with eating was also becoming more and more of an issue ( we just found out this is a common problem with Pancreatic cancer). His PCP had the belief the whole time it was ulcer actually prescribing  quite a few types of ulcer or peptic medications. The pain for Jason is now so bad he must sleep sitting up and that has been going on almost  1 month.  One night Jason could not handle anymore pain and finally we went to the emergency room.  He had been hesitant to go because if we remember his doctor has told him it's a digestive issue, so was the ER too much? Jason is a very shy and humble man and this worry was no diffrent.
The Avita ER doctor listened to the history I just l laid out above from Jason and I.  He immediately did a CT scan, x-ray and ordered blood work.  This is when the world started  becoming surreal and devastation set in.  The ER doctor came back in with the results.  We were given the horrific news alone at 3am at the beginning of March two weeks ago.  "I have the results from the tests we ran and I hate to be the one to tell you this but the results of the CT scan show a 5 cm mass on the tail of your pancreas and lesions on your lungs and liver.  We called the OSU James Cancer center in Columbus, Ohio and a transport will be here in twenty minutes ".  Jason visibly started uncontrollably shaking and I have cried every day since then. I wept for his age, our new marriage and our anniversary is two weeks away. I cried for our deep connection in life and love, for his constantly pain for a year and being useless against such a horrible foe. Jason was admitted into the OSU James for uncontrollable pain and we would get a biopsy done during that stay. A few days later the biopsy results dramatically changing both our lives. We have been informed stage four cancer is when the cancer cells start moving through the endocrine system via the lymph nodes.  This is how the lesions came to be on his liver and lungs.
Next week we begin chemo therapy and for the rest of his life going forward Jason will be on an infusion once every two weeks through a subdural pic line. This pic line chemo therapy, the stage four cancer biopsy results , and his unemployment FMLA are reasons why I began this gofundme page.  Two hour drives four or more times a month.  Jason's work benefits to enable continuation of treatment he paid with his check  bi-weekly.  Medication is looking to be around over 200.00 so far with regular diabetic medications and pain management  so far this month are all reasonable things to expect with stage 4 cancer.  These unfortunately are all things we can not afford. Jason is 41 years old and the youngest Pancreatic cancer patient his oncology doctor has worked with thus far. Jason has four young children who's birth mother died from very invasive and quick breast cancer around four years ago. They stay with family now and are well taken care of but he would also like to be able to see them before he leaves this earth. Jason's optimism, profoundly deep faith, me and his four children are all reasons for him to continue his positivity and trust that God will heal him.  Helping him emotionally and spiritualy are his three sisters and we all believe in God's promises to us. His sisters and him just lost their mother not to long ago.

Thank you for reading this and if at all possible please pray for Jason's miraculous healing and reunification with his out of state children and family. Jason is the great love of my life I will do anything for him even something as profound as this, because if we don't have to worry about funds his time here can be spent living and loving not stressing and worrying.
