I'm Hyacinth Jones and I've been writing for nearly 5 years about my sex- and love-life on my blog. Due to the sensitive nature of my writings, I do so anonymously, but I have found an incredible community of people - fellow artists, creatives and advocates - to support me.
This is why I need help raising money: to return to England to attend a convention just for writers who specialize in erotica (of both fiction and non-fiction) and to - if I'm chosen to again - run a writer's workshop session.
The money would pay for my plane tickets, lodging, and food with maybe a little left over for a Union Jack t-shirt or two. Because it's a 10 hour flight with a 6 hour time difference, I would stay longer than just the weekend to justify the expense and the physical toll, a week or 10-days.
The convention is March 4th and 5th, 2017, in downtown London, so I'm hoping to have at least $2500 by October 2016 so I can buy my tickets and secure lodging.
Our society penalizes people who are open about their sexuality. They lose their jobs, friends, relationships, positions in society. We are all forced underground to some degree or another simply to express our sexual and artistic sides.
The group of creatives that convene at Eroticon eschew these restrictions. They're open, accepting, and fight for our rights to be fully-realized adults in any way we see fit. Participating in this movement, and this convention in particular, is deeply important to me, my writing, and my life. I don't think that sexuality is only ok one way; I believe it's ok in all ways so long as everyone is an informed and consenting adult.
I will be eternally grateful for even $1 donated to this journey - I know no one has to give me a dime - and will do my utmost to keep writing engaging, smart, and sexy content and conduct a workshop worthy of its attendees.
