In Loving Memory Of SuperMan

I am setting up this GoFund Me account in honor of my father, Steven Chilingirian. I have always thought of my father as being THE strongest person I've ever known. To me, my father is, and always was, Superman. He is my heart and my best friend. My whole world. We have worked side by side for years. We had the whole world ahead of us. Nothing could stop us, especially when we were together. Until that day came that none of us had ever thought we'd see. My father was diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer. It seemed like the end of the world to me at the time, but what I saw in my father these past two years, was a strength and determination I have never witnessed in any man before. His fight for survival was uninhibited.

After six long months of chemotherapy and radiation, we had found out that the treatments worked, and his tumor had shrunk. We were all ecstatic when we heard this news, and for a while there, we thought we were once again on top of the world. Four months later, we received the news that not only had the tumor grown back, but at this point, it had metastasized. What started out in his throat was now also in his lungs. And so the fight began once again.

My father has been receiving his second bout of chemotherapy treatments. He is fighting every day of his life, and has been for the past two years. I am saddened to say that my worst fear is upon me. The kryptonite is starting to take over, and Superman is getting weaker. The doctors are recommending my father get everything in order for his family. They say that now, hospice is his best option.

So I am starting this GoFund Me for two reasons. The first is to make sure that the family my father is leaving behind, has something to fall back on and will not be left stranded. He lost his job and any stability that went along with it when he first found out about his disease. He is so afraid of leaving nothing behind, and that breaks not only his heart, but my heart as well. I want to do everything in my power to make sure that doesn't happen. The second reason is because I want to be able to experience something amazing with my father. Maybe just one last unforgettable and irreplaceable memory to call my own. I am trying to do everything in my power to show my father how much I love him. I want him to have the trip, the vacation, or even the day of a lifetime with his family and with a little help from you all.

So I am asking you, from the bottom of my heart, to PLEASE consider donating to my fathers cause. Make his wishes come true, and give him a memory he will never forget. ANYTHING will help a GREAT deal. Whatever contribution you can provide would be much appreciated, and I know it would mean the WORLD to my father Amy my family.

I also want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to my Aunt Maryann and Uncle Greg for taking THE BEST CARE of my father these past couple of months. I don't know what he, or what any of us, would have done without you both. I will FOREVER be grateful for you both and I love you both with all of my heart.
