Huxley's G Tube
Donation protected
As many of you know, Huxley has been in the nicu at BC Children's Hospital since he was born on April 3rd. He has many medical issues, but one of the main ones is Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum. This makes it so the two sides of his brain don't talk to each other, resulting in him not knowing when to suck, swallow and breath while feeding. Because of this Huxley is unable to do any oral feeding, so he will be getting a G Tube placed in his tummy so his feeds will be pumped directly into his stomach. The pump costs $1200.00, and the start up supplies cost $800, and it's $300 for 'button' changes every 3 months, none of which is covered. Children's Hospital has told us there are no pumps to loan in the mean time, and Variety has stopped funding for G-tubes. We are not the type of people who like to ask for help, but any help would be greatly appreciated . Surgery is scheduled for Monday or Tuesday, and we will be able to return home shortly after!
