My name is Tonya and I have been serving in the tiny village of Castle Bruce located in the carribean island of Dominica.  For the past 5 years I managed a boat project in the village which resulted in 4 brand new 22 ft vessels being donated to the  fishing village. During my journey I was adopted by the Lockhart family (a well known fishers family) they welcomed me into thier home and we became a family. The Lockhart family has been a huge support to me during my journey with this project I was living in the family home when Hurricane Maria arrived. On  Monday Sept 18th a catagory 5 hurricane hit our tiny village pounding us for hours with (165mph) wind. No one was prepared for what we saw at day break. Total destruction. Neighbors homes gone. All agriculture, gone.  The Lockharts raised their family in this home for over 50 years! This includes many produce on the land with chickens and other small animals  that were all lost. To make matters worse in May  2017 Mama Lockhart passed away suddenly & the family was left without thier matriarch! (PaPa Lockhart passed a few years earlier) She was a strong advocate of bringing community together she would open her door for anyone to help them. This has prompted a call to action on behalf of this family they have lost their mother and a few months later their family home. Please consider assisting me to help this family right now there is no food we need food supplies coming in to stabalize the situation. The plans are to purchase supplies and ship the items down in a barrel. We have a reliable connecton toward shipping all items and feel confident on our end we will get the items to the intended recipients. I was evacuated after several days of not having access to medication. I plan to return also to assist in the rebirthing of Castle Bruce and Dominica. Maria ravaged the family home. Currently the situaion is very imminent. The roof was completly blown off and as it is still hurricane season its a  grave concern for further damage as the entire upper portion of the house has been damaged by water including all the contents within the home. Estimates are it will take months to restore electricity to the home. What is needed right now is FOOD. There is no FOOD coming into this remote area of the island. Other items we need include:
