Hurricane Dorian Recovery for Nattel Brown & Fam.

My name is Meryl Katlin and I am a friend of Nattel & Genero Brown. Nattel and her family experienced the devastation of Hurricane Dorian that ripped thru the beautiful Abaco Islands on Sept 1, 2019.
Her first words to me after the storm was a terrifying, "Meryl I lost Everything, I have Nothing". But yes, she has her life and those of her family as well. They will go on, but with only their will and drive, no home, no clothes, no electricity. They need some type of foundation to begin this new journey. In a nutshell, they need money to rebuild their home and community.
Let me tell you a little about Nattel, We met a few years ago while on one of our summer vacations in the Abacos. Chance had it that we were on the same boat ride over to the infamous Cheeseburger in Paradise Party. It took all of a minute for Nattel to introduce herself and her fiance Genero, to my mother, my boyfriend and I, and about another minute for her to have us completely taken care of for the day with transportation and fun, She told us she was part of the planning committee for the party, what it was all about, and stick with her for the day to have the best time. (Plus she arranged how we would get off the island and home!)
That was the start of a friendship.
The following year we kept in touch thru Facebook and once again on our next summer in the Abacos, we spent time with the newlyweds Mr. & Mrs. Brown. We experienced Pete's Pub, fun times on Treasure Cay and of course Nattel's beloved Green Turtle Cay.
Nattel recently had the opportunity to apply with the Bahamian govt for a business backing, she was given a timeline and requirements to apply. It was a very thorough process she had to complete everything from business plan to projections. Knowing the typical time frame for this to all happen, she didn't let their answer slow down her desire and drive, in fact putting all that info to paper gave her more power and knowledge to move ahead. She opened up Nattel's Designs and Beyond, and then her online tee shirt and gift store, GreenTurtleTees.com, Her dream is to have her own physical store on Green Turtle Cay for printing and graphics.
The day that Dorian struck was supposed to be one of Nattel's days that she would be one step closer to her business goal. She was coming to meet me in Florida and train with me for 10 days on graphic software, webstore management, take a couple days at an industry trade show (which would have blown her creative mind to the next level) and have a better grasp on everything she needed to take that next step on her home turf. She was super excited, like a kid on Christmas morning, But sadly her life and her families life now has a roadblock.
Nattel loves her husband, loves her family, loves Green Turtle Cay and wants with all her passion to be able to re-build her community, She needs her friends to help her now .
One more thing, even in total devastation, She posted on Facebook that she had baby items if anyone needed them. From someone who lost everything she still has what to give others in need.
