Hurricane Harvey Hospice Relief Fund
We’ve witnessed an unspeakable tragedy unfold in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. The storm put Houston and over 50 Texas counties in need of immediate and long-term aid. The devastating impact of this natural disaster has been felt across many communities and in all sectors of healthcare – including the hospice community who serve families affected by Harvey. Hospice nurses, aides and staff might be permanently disjointed from their homes and jobs for lack of a place to lay their heads. Many of them need to pay for temporary shelter, have access to food and clean water, and replace their clothes.
This fund has been established to accommodate the outpouring of requests from people asking how to help hospice staff and patients suffering in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.
The goal of this fund is to pool our resources to help restore these hospice nurses and caregivers so they may continue to serve patients in the Houston area.
FIRST We are prioritizing support for hospice staff as they work hard to provide extraordinary care and bring hope to families in Texas. Your donation will assist hospice employees who lost everything in Hurricane Harvey get back on their feet so they may continue to serve patients with terminal illness in and around Houston.
SECOND Some of Texas’ most vulnerable – hospice patients at the end of life, are also struggling in the wake of Harvey. Once we’ve reached our first goal, the remaining funds will go towards assisting hospice patients and their caregivers.
100% of those funds will be distributed to those in need – zero dollars will be used for administrative expenses.
