Hunter Goode was a loving brother, son, friend and boyfriend. He was always telling it like it is and knew how to get along with everyone. His smile and laugh were contagious and he truly had the biggest heart. Hunter was a fighter, a protector.
On the morning of November 14, 2018, Hunter's apartment was broken into. One intruder at the back of the house and one at the front door. While Hannah, his girlfriend, slept upstairs, he and his roommate were surprised by a knock on the door. The intruder at the back door suddenly used a gun to shoot out the back window as Hunter was opening the door. In an instant his roommate ran upstairs to grab a gun and Hunter chased the man at the front door out of the house. During his chase, only feet away from the apartment door, Hunter was shot multiple times by the man running away. He was unarmed. He was protecting his friend and girlfriend. He was gunned down because someone wanted to rob him. My baby brother was killed because of greed and ignorance.
The heartbreak of this sudden tragedy is unbearable. You never think about having to bury a sibling or a son, and you never think something like this would happen to you. Hunter was so loving and only wanted the best for the people around him. I truly believed that he saved Hannah and his roommate that morning.
This fundraiser is to help pay for the sudden funeral and memorial costs and arrangements. Please take a moment to donate anything you can. Even the smallest amount is appreciated. We love you all and we will honor Hunter's memory forever.
MEMORIAL INFORMATION:
Hunter's viewing will be Saturday, Nov. 17 at the Sturtevant Funeral Home - Portsmouth Blvd Chapel location from 7pm-8:30pm. (His wishes were to be cremated, so this is a chance to see Hunter one last time.) The funeral will take place Sunday, same location at 2pm followed by a family gathering nearby. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the chapel or bring a card.
