Budapest Exchange Theater Program

Hi everyone! My name is Felicia Varvaras and I am going to be a junior at The Boston Conservatory studying Voice Performance. I am participating in the Hungary Exchange Theater Program that is part of The Crystal Theatre in Norwalk, CT this August. I will be traveling to Budapest, Hungary for two weeks to perform my own role in a professional theater with a group of performers  from both The Crystal Theatre and from Hungary. 

I will also be given the opportunity to work in masterclasses for a week with Maria Teresa Uribbe Reddeman, a professional European opera singer, who will help enhance my artistic and musical skills and provide me with her point of view and advice on being a performer. 

I will always want to perform but my ultimate goal is to help people through music. I am looking to pursue music therapy where I can help all ages of people including those with special needs, trauma, memory loss, etc. I know I was given this specific talent for a reason and it was not only to entertain, but to also help. My passion for music and helping those around me, I believe, can make a change. 

This will be my first opportunity to perform internationally alongside a group of people I've grown up with at Crystal Theatre and students from Hungary that have grown up performing just like myself, who I cannot wait to meet! I know this opportunity is a once in a lifetime experience and will enhance my knowledge on the amazing different cultures that exist around me while also showing me how the arts are truly universal and so inspiring!
