Humphrey’s Surgery

Donation protected
If you live in Duluth, odds are you’ve met my dog.  His name is Sir Humphrey, and he’s a Chinese Shar Pei. The first five years of his life, Humphrey lived with a large family. We met one day when his family decided to surrender him after an incident with a teasing neighborhood kid. I was working as kennel staff, and adopted Humphrey as soon as he was neutered and ready to go home. Since then, Humphrey has accompanied me to varies jobs over the years. Most recently, Humphrey worked as my demonstration dog while I taught lessons at Petsmart. He has brought joy into the lives of everyone who meets him, and now I’m asking for your help in return. Humphrey, like many Shar Pei, has a condition called Entropion. This condition causes the eyelid to ‘roll into’ his eye resulting in his eyelashes scratching the surface of his eye. This is a source of constant discomfort that, if left unchecked, will lead to corneal ulceration and blindness. Last week we discovered that an ulcer has formed on his left eye, and will not heal unless he has his eyelids surgically altered. This surgery is scheduled to happen on Tuesday, and will cost upwards of $1500. Currently, I am a full time student working part-time at RR Professional Dog Training & Boarding, and have applied for a second job to try and make ends meet. The honest truth, is that I don’t have the money to pay for this surgery. I’m asking for your help to take away the pain Humphrey is currently in. Without this surgery, his eyes will never stop bothering him, and will gradually become nothing but a source of pain. Please help me prevent this from happening. Thank you.
