Solidarity Walk & Community Iftar

Jews of Dutchess County, with the participation of members of other faith communities, are looking to hold an Interfaith "Freedom Walk" and Model Iftar meal for, and in solidarity with, our Muslim brothers and sisters.
Between 6 and 7 PM on June 5th (the Sunday before the beginning of Ramadan) we will walk hand in hand across the bridge, then join together for a model Iftar under a pavilion by the water. We will end with some interfaith learning, discussions, and sunset prayer offerings.
Who: Jews and other faith communities
What: A Freedom Walk and Model Iftar meal for and in solidarity with our Muslim Brothers and Sisters.
Where: The Walkway over the Hudson (61 Parker Ave, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601)
When: Sunday June 5th (The Sunday before Ramadan begins) from 6-9pm (people can begin gathering on the bridge at 5:30pm)
Why: To combat rising hate speech and divisiveness.
With your generous support we can ensure there is food for everyone and we work with the bridge to open this walk to hundreds of people, making the statement that voices of loving-kindess outnumber the voices of hatred.
