Hudson Wicker

Alanna was admitted to the hospital 10/22/18 for induction and was rushed to a c-section due to baby Hudson’s heart rate dropping. Upon delivery Hudson was perfect in every way. Alanna, Mike and Hudson had a quite, tire sum first night in the hospital and everything seemed fine.  The following day, without notice or distress, Hudson stopped breathing. He was admitted into the NICU and found to have extremely low blood sugar and presenting with seizure like activity. At this point all we could do is pray as there wasn’t many answers coming from the doctors. The very next day Alanna and mike received the worst news any parent could receive. Sweet baby Hudson had several brain bleeds and he was still struggling with his blood sugars. As the doctors were still not able to diagnose the source of bleeds and low blood sugar Mike and Alanna decided to reach out to another hospital. As of today, 10/31/18, Hudson is in the process of being transferred to children’s hospital of Atlanta(CHOA) where he will receive, what we believe to be, the best care possible. We are asking for prayers for Hudson at this time as he transitions to CHOA. We are praying that the specialists at CHOA are able to determine the best course of action to heal baby Hudson. We are also asking for monetary donations of any kind at this time if you are able. I’m sure you can imagine how costly this has been and how quickly cost will add up over time as they already live over an hour from the hospital. Alanna is breastfeeding Hudson so they need to stay close as she needs to feed him every two hours to keep his blood sugars up. The costs of hotel, food and gas adds up rather quickly and we would like to ease the pain that they are already feeling having a sick child. Thank you for taking the time to read Hudson’s story. Please keep the Wicker family in your prayers during these troubling times. God bless.
