My cousin and I are departing on a mission to raise money for cannabis cancer research. This topic is near and dear to my heart. As a professional in the industry I have personally seen the benefits and validity of using this natural herb as a medicinal agent. Over the years, the experiences and stories I have encountered are countless.
My father passed away just over a year ago from pancreatic cancer. This is a merciless and horrible type of cancer. Excruciatingly painful. Although a traditional fellow with some resistance towards medicating with cannabis he began to accept it and it enabled him some relief from the disease. My only wish is that I can help educate and inspire people to look past the negativity that surrounds it and be able to look at it with fresh inquisitive eyes.
My passion and profession has enabled me to travel the world and discuss the subject with some of the leading scientists on this subject. Each time it astounds me as to the medicinal potency of the plant and the powerful interactions of phyto-cannabinoids in the human body in terms of health. Whenever I have this opportunity it solidifies me that I am on the right path and inspires me to do more to raise awareness and give back.
The medical cannabis bike tour was started in part by a friend and collogue several years ago. Each time I see him tells me about the ride and tries to boost me to join. Well this year is the year. As someone who has benefited from the now evolving industry it’s time to give back. Experiencing my father succumb to cancer and knowing the true power of the plant I understand that we have only scratched the surface of its potential. To bring doctors on side and the medical community it will take funding and research. This is what I aim to do.
Cancer has touched everyone in some way or another. If you have experienced a love one go through it then you know that the tools that doctors have to use are sometimes worse than the disease its self. With their final days, sometimes being worsened due to the treatment. I as well as many others believe cannabis has roll to play here.
