Matt's Dream For His Daughter

Donation protected
This is in remembrance of a wonderful man, Matthew Phillip Maier, who tragically died on April 19, 2017, at the age of 36. He leaves behind his wife Mindy, daughter Olivia, age 4, his parents Phillip and Karen Maier, brother Gregory Maier and his fiancé Tara Henry, nephews Carson and Corbin Maier, grandparents Robert and Jane Gillen, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Matthew found joy in his work and we have been told  he was the best sound engineer ever and he was highly respected and renowned in the area. He loved what he was doing.

Matthew’s shining light in his life was Olivia. He had great plans for her.  He was a passionate father who loved being with her and exposing her to things in life that he felt were important.  He gave her his best.

Matt’s dream for Olivia was to attend good schools where she would get the best educational experience. He spoke of specific schools he wished he could have her attend.  We would like to make his dream come true, so we are setting up an educational fund for Olivia who will start her first year this fall. Many of you have asked what you can do to help.  This is our answer. Donate to this fund that has been set up on Go Fund Me.  Help make Matt’s dream come true.  Olivia is so young. As she grows up and her memories of her father become more distant, this educational fund will help to keep his spirit alive in her throughout her school years.

Thank you. Please share and spread the word so that everyone who has been touched by Matt’s life will learn about his dream.

Message from Olivia's Mom:
Matt and I spoke recently and often about Livi's education. If you've ever met our Olivia, you know that she's a wild, passionate spirit. Academically, she can hang with the best...of the preschoolers. But emotionally and attention span wise, not so much.

Our worst fear is that she will be disciplined heavy for not being able to sit still and focus thus making her feel inadequate and bad about herself. Matt struggled with those feelings all throughout his school years.

I know Matt is grimacing at this gofundme page, somewhere out there in the universe. But sending Olivia to a school where she will thrive was the top of his list. And plans to make this happen were already in progress before that tragic night.

Matt was loved by so so many. And he loved so many of us, deeply. He never let anyone go that he held dear to his heart.

From day one you unknowingly carved out a piece of my heart and you will forever remain there. I love you, old man Matt. And I will do right by our Olivia.
