Emily’s liver transplant surgery will be on January 31st. This surgery is medically necessary because she suffers from primary sclerosing cholangitis. Our hope is that this procedure will ensure her a higher quality of life moving forward.
Emily's younger brother Micah has graciously volunteered to be her donor. They both will need support during their recoveries and this campaign is intended to help lessen the financial strain.
We're reaching out to our communities because we know you love and care for the entire family. Donations raised will go towards the cost of lost income for Emily and primary caretakers, basic amenities for caretakers while Emily and Micah are at the University of Illinois Hospital, and transportation to and from Chicago. (Gas, tolls, parking)
The estimated recovery period for Emily is three months, so the family will need as many hands as possible to help make the recovery period smooth and peaceful.
