HPANA.com, which began as a small, one-person effort in 2002 and blossomed into one of the Internet's largest & most trusted resources for all things Harry Potter, is finally returning!
October 15 marks HPANA's 15th Anniversary
After nearly a decade publishing the latest headlines 24/7 and being a home for discussions, theories, analysis, fan fiction and fan art for almost 100,000 members, we are gearing up to provide the best possible news coverage and a fantastically welcoming community for Harry Potter & Fantastic Beasts fans once again. We hope to entertain and inform you for another 10 years!
As you may already know, HPANA has the great distinction of being the very first fan site J.K. Rowling ever visited online, and our team strives to live up to that honor every day by providing accurate, timely news & information on everything in her expansive creative universe.
Hello, my name is Jeff Guillaume (a.k.a Cheeser). I started the Harry Potter Automatic News Aggregator in my apartment 15 years ago[!!!] on a whim, and it quickly became a popular destination for fans of all ages. So quickly, in fact, that my roommate got upset I was using all of our bandwidth and within a month I was looking for "real" web hosting. Things started heating up when the Washington Post linked to our little site, and then in December 2004, none other than J.K. Rowling bestowed one of her rare Fan Site Awards on us.
Here's what J.K. Rowling had to say about HPANA:
"The Harry Potter Automatic News Aggregator was the very first Harry Potter website I ever visited, though it has changed almost beyond recognition since those early days. A fantastically user-friendly fansite, faster off the mark with Harry Potter news than any other site I know, and with all kinds of brilliantly inventive touches. I particularly like the points system, whereby dedicated posters can work their way up from 'Muggle' to 'Auror' and beyond - though speaking of titles, I hoped that 'High Inquisitor' (moderator name) would have died out when Umbridge was run (galloped?) out of Hogwarts. On the other hand, 'Guillaume' and 'Broggy' (surnames of two of the masterminds behind HPANA) are just begging to be used for fictional wizards."

Not surprisingly, after that ringing endorsement HPANA's growth literally exploded. By 2007, the site had been visited by millions of people from 200+ countries on every continent in the world.
What your support means to us
The group of us working on HPANA today want to deliver as much as we can by our 15th anniversary on October 15. It's going to take a lot of work, and some startup funds to get us off and running.
We can't rely on advertising revenue to support the site this time. Too many people utilize ad blockers today, and we wanted to offer an option for more direct financial support.
Your kind donation will go toward hosting & other costs HPANA incurs as we ramp up. There are some urgent needs right away; please contribute whatever you can today.
The more you support us, the more we can do together! Our long term goals include producing original video content and offering a specialized platform for fan fiction and fan art creators to showcase their works.
