House of Sweetness Startup Campaign

The U.S. Coast Guard has brought California natives, Benjamin and Amber Cooper, along with their three children Kyle(12), Rayah (10) and Benni (6) to Massachusetts after a 2014 transfer to Command Center Boston. If home is where the heart is…they felt right at home after quickly settling in and falling in love with their new home town. In 2015, as Benjamin approached reenlistment, he made the decision to reenter the civilian world, nurture his skills and passion for baking and pastries by enrolling at the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts, and take an active role in rekindling Amber’s passion for specialty cakes. Together they have revived their vision for www.houseofsweetness.com , which was founded in Petaluma, CA in 2010 as a home based specialty cake business.  The biggest obstacle they now face is rounding up enough capital to bring to the table in order to secure the necessary loan; which is why they've launched this Go Fund me campaign and are making a humble request for support of any kind, from those near and far. 

Ben and Amber have spent recent months developing their business plan, meeting with advisers, and finding their ideal location, which happens to be right in the very town they call home. House of Sweetness will offer gourmet coffee and espresso based drinks, house made pastries, and custom sculpted and wedding cakes. The slated opening for HOS is August 2016! Through the success of the business, Amber and Ben will not only be setting an example for civilian and veteran entrepreneurs, but they are setting an example for those considering adult education or pursuing a dream. With hearts that find joy in helping others, the Coopers are excited about the opportunities to use House of Sweetness as a platform to give back to the community and those in need.
