Hospital bills for burst appendix

Donation protected

This is what happened to my 21-year old sister, Kiah.
In September 2016 she went travelling, and we weren't expecting to see her for over a year.
She was in Australia, and a week ago she messaged us saying she was sick with what she thought was really bad food poisoning. We thought it was sun stroke. Everyone thought she would get better soon.
A few days later, she got way worse. She had blood in her urine, then she fainted and her friend called an ambulance.  They rushed her to the hospital, where they did a cursory examination and determined she had appendicitis and needed an operation, so they sent her to a better equipped hospital a half hour away.  When she arrived, a cat scan revealed that her appendix had burst, and she was in septic shock. Our family heard about this and had to wait here (Canada) to find out the outcome.
After about maybe 9 hours or so (seemed like an eternity) we found out she had a six hour surgery, which basically saved her life.
We are INCREDIBLEY thankful that the surgery was a success and Kiah is doing fine, resting in the hospital at the moment. She is such a trouper and could not be more brave. However, she wants to come home now (understandably after that trauma) and she has a hefty hopsital bill to pay. It's $2,100 a night and she's already been there for five days and still has a few more to go. We are really hoping on paying for her best friend, Jessica, to fly home as well. She was the hero during this time; getting her to the hospital, staying with her the whole time, carrying her to getting her anything she needed, and also letting us know everything that was going on. Jessica has quit her job because Kiah is to not allowed to fly alone so Jessica is going to accompany her. We could not thank her enough for being there for her!
All in all, this bill will be around $20,000 which is way more than any of us can deal with, so we're asking you to help out any way you can. We could not thank you enough. It would mean SO much to us, you have no idea. Help us bring her home so we can laugh ourselves silly again and can give her some much needed family time and bear hugs!

Thank you loads, and lots of love <3
