Hope Over Addiction
Hope Over Addiction is an Advocacy Group in Rockford, IL.
www.hopeoveraddiction.net
It was founded by two mothers after suffering the devastating loss of their sons to accidental overdoses. There is no greater loss than the loss of a child. We turned our grief into action by helping other families learn how to save their loved ones. For the first time in history, more people die from opioid overdoses than car accidents.
Our mission is to provide drug and overdose prevention education and training. To end the stigma by teaching the science of addiction. To provide grief support for those who have lost loved ones. To provide support for those who have a loved one suffering from the disease of addiction. We also organize community awareness and outreach programs.
We provide free Naloxone/Narcan trainings and Naloxone kits. Naloxone/Narcan is the life saving overdose reversal medication. In the past, we received Naloxone product donations for free. Due to high demand, the pharmaceutical companies have exhausted their product donations until 2017. The cost of Naloxone/Narcan has tripled over the last year. We need funds to purchase more kits so we can continue to provide families the training and medication they need to save their loved ones life in the event of a relapse that results in an overdose.
Hope Over Addiction is a 100% volunteer group. There are no paid staff memberhelps. So all donations go to the organizations cost of Naloxone and running the community programs. Hope Over Addiction is a 501c3 nonprofit organization so all donations are tax deductable.
Please help us continue to save lives!!!!
