PLEASE READ: Most people think about Hawaii and say, "What a
lovely vacation destination". Payton Hope Walker thinks about Hawaii and KNOWS this: "I can breathe."
This is proven. Before she and her family did a trial stay in Kauai, she had MRSA in her lungs. It is now GONE. Before Kauai, she had a micro -bacterium in her lungs that doctors said would never leave. It is now GONE. But she isn't well because there are SO many other things that can grow in her lungs because of this terrible disease called Cystic Fibrosis....which has no current cure.
Her parents, Amber and Adam are doing everything they can to extend her life until a cure is found. Think about it: EXTEND her LIFE. What would you do if it were your baby?
Cystic Fibrosis does not have remission.
Payton cannot say "I am Cystic Fibrosis free." (YET, praying/hoping for a CURE)
Lifetime, expensive, daily medications and hours long daily treatments are what keep her alive. The living enviornment for CF warriors is so VITAL! Payton's family has exhausted finances trying to get her to where she thrives. She needs OUR help. Please.
Payton can't have friends over. She can't go to school. She can't go to birthday parties or play sports or even take piano lessons. That is because where she lives now she gets sick from her enviornment which makes her vulnerable. In Kauai, the rich, salty air breaks up all the mucus in her lungs so she can get it OUT. There are very few places where this is possible for people with CF.
My name is Tessa and I am one of Payton's aunties and I just want her to be able to be a 9 year-old kid. It's so easy to take the things for granted that Payton only dreams of doing. We are raising funds so Payton can finally live more permanantly in the place where she can just be a kid.
The funds raised will be used for rent, living expenses, medical bills and medications. For flights to and from as her hardworking daddy has to stay behind for her older siblings and his job for the health insurance she desperately needs.
Payton is my hero because through all her treatments, setbacks, hosptial stays, confined to her home, she has an unbreakable spirit that shines through.
