Hope for Liliana Marie

Liliana's story is not an easy one to tell.
My daughter, Liliana, has always been a happy, sweet, tenderhearted, healthy little girl.
This summer we have been swimming, playing outside, and more importantly anticipating the first day of kindergarton. She was thrilled. She will never get to take those first steps into her kindergarton classroom two weeks later.
On July 29th, my daughter was running in our home and tripped and fell. Most times, as children do, she would have normally got right back up, and continue running. Although, this time, there was no getting up. She could not get up. She said her belly hurt too bad. I put her in her bed and waited to see if she needed to rest. The tears did not stop.
My husband suggested we needed to take her to the emergency room. At the emergency room, they ran several tests including x-rays...ultasounds...Waiting in that emergency room, my mind was running. What could possibly be taking so long? All she did was fall. The attending doctor asked if I could step out of the room. He told me the words no mother wants to hear for her child. My daughter has cancer. A Wilms tumor. A tumor, the size larger than a small basketball, was attached to her right kidney. Her pain came from the tumor rupturing and those cancer cells spreading across her abdomen.
July 29th will forever be a day we remember. Our lives will forever be changed. Our daughter had to undergo emergency surgery a few days later. She endured seven hours of surgery, They removed the massive tumor, as well as the right kidney.
Liliana and I spent two weeks in the hospital. I never once left the hospital. The oncology docters said she will have to undergo a year of chemo therapy and radiation.  Although, the chemotherapy and radiation will save her life now, it will leave extensive damage to her other major organs.
You would never imagine this happening to your child, but it is a reality. This fund is to help the financal aspect of what our family is now going through. This is our new normal. Although, this is a new normal, we were in no way prepared for this. It has never been easy for us to ask for help. Liliana has one younger sister, Elissa, and one baby brother Todd.
My husband and I will use these funds to pay our monthly bills, transportation expenses since the hospital is 30 mintues away, cleaning supplies since her the treatment will diminish her immune system, school supples since we have to home school her to protect her and anything to make her smile.
We are devastated for what has happened, but we are very greatful she did fall that day. We wish her pediatricians would have found this sooner. It is just not fair for a five year old to have cancer. We pray every night to God to make her healthy again.  We love you so much Liliana Marie.
