Hope for Hope and Mary Ann!

At Animal Friends of the Valleys, we are dedicated to preventing suffering of animals and helping where we can. This Holiday Season of Giving, we have two cases that are in need of special attention, but our funding can only go so far.

Mary Ann (ID #396152) is the sweetest 8 month-old kitty girl who was found wandering the streets with a limp. When we brought her to our local veterinary partners, they found that the entire ball of her hip joint had been shattered--presumably by blunt force of either a kick or hit--and she has been living with this pain for several months now. 

Our veterinary partner is recommending that we perform surgery to remove all of the fragmented pieces that could potentially become infected and to shave the bone to act as the new "ball" of the joint so that she will not have to live in pain. This surgery is projected to run $808.00 and we are hoping to be able to help this sweet girl without taking away from the rest of our shelter pets!

Hope (ID #433716) was left in our Night Drop with no information about her and a terrible injury that left her eye out of its socket. We immediately brought her to our veterinary partner, who is removing the affected eye today.

This surgery is going to cost us $899 that we don't necessarily have to spare, but we knew that we could not let her suffer any longer than she already has and we have hope that Hope will recover to be a happy and sweet little lady.
