News Video

Hope, Faith, and Angel were on their way to a party with their human parents on December 26 (they went everywhere with them)! While driving down the freeway their car was hit by a car allegedly racing and they were ejected from the car onto the roadway into traffic. As the car rolled over and over their Mom perished at the scene. Their Dad was transported to the hospital by Life Flight with critical injuries. Angel was also fatally injured and Faith and Hope sustained serious injuries.
Courageous citizens stopped and ran to  aid their Mom and Dad and others rescued Hope and Faith from traffic and took them to a nearby animal emergency hospital.
As one of the firefighters that responded to the scene and as a pet parent myself I could not leave Angel lying on the road so after the scene was cleared we took Angel to be with his companions.
The amazing team at NHVS Katy were diligently working to stabilize and treat Hope and Faith ( they didn't know their names at the time so they aptly named them Hope and Faith) and I knew I needed to do for them what I would pray someone would do for me if it were my four legged family.
Hope, Faith, and Angel's family is facing a heartbreaking time with the loss and injury of their family. There will be costly medical bills and more for them to deal with. Our goal is to help cover the vet bills to lessen their burden. We need your help, they need your help!
Hope and Faith are still recovering in the hospital and may need more surgery to repair their injuries. The team of professionals at NHVS Katy is dedicated to helping them recover as fully as possible.
As first responders we don't often have an opportunity to see or help with a positive outcome for the work we do. This tragic incident was difficult for all of us. To be able to help Faith, Hope and Angels family is very healing for us. Your help and donations  will help all of us to know, while we did all we could on that scene, and although we couldn't alter the outcome that night,  we have a way to continue to help make a difference that will alter the outcome for the future.
Please donate now to help cover the cost of Hope and Faith's recovery.
Hope's real name is Lucy, Faith's real name is Judy Brown, and the little Angels real name is Elvis.
Thank you for your generosity and keep updated on their recovery on their Facebook Page, "Hope, Faith, & Angel".

I visited Lucy today and the vet techs said she was doing well and getting feisty and kind of snappy as she is tired of her physical therapy. She has been a little depressed as I'm sure she is missing her family and needs a change of scenery. She ate good because she loves her chicken and I got to hold her a few minutes. She gave me a lick on the nose as I was talking to her. She is a little stronger and is healing nicely and had a surgical staple removed from her front leg while I was there. She and her family still need lots of support and prayers. Judy Brown was in for a checkup yesterday and they say she was licking all over Lucy and got growled at for her efforts sounds like Lucy is getting back to normal. She is getting better slowly and will still need lots of rehab but should be able to be released soon. Her survival and recovery so far is truly a miracle and a result of all y'all's prayers thoughts and support.

All of your prayers and support have made an incredible difference I visited Lucy today and Howdy and Smokie insisted I take her some of their pupperoni. I got the report from the vet-techs that she is getting stronger and pulls back when you pull on her leg watch her progress from almost nothing to this. She is trying to stand when she goes outside and is enjoying the sunshine. Her front legs are still weak however she is getting stronger

I am one of the veterinary technicians at NHVS Katy that has been taking care of the girls.... The holidays are always one of the worst/saddest times of year (in veterinary ER), my coworkers and I have had a pretty tough holiday season at work. A horrible situation has occurred...with a silver lining. The goodness of people helps lift our hearts and spirits in situations like this! We cannot thank you/your team members enough for your kindness in all aspects.

Just had to redonate this evening. This story has touched me like no other. When any of my pets are riding with me, I always wondered what would happen to them if there was an accident. Hang in there Lucy and thanks again to the first responders for their kindness and love. My heart goes out to the family loosing their sweet Mom and Elvis plus terrible injuries to Dad.

God Bless the first responders. They have a tough job and they are truly heroes. I hope this family can take comfort in knowing their precious pets are getting the best care also. Lucy brought me to tears last night when I saw her sad little Doxie face! Get well soon sweet girl! I challenge all of my Dachshund friends in rescue to help out as much as you can. This family needs their babies back!

Amen to what Amanda said. Out of this tragic situation the silver lining are these girls. I'm so fortunate to get to work along side my amazing team helping these babies get better. I can say we are all personally vested in the care of Lucy and Judy. I too anxiously await tomorrow mornings assessment with Dr.Dahlinger in hopes that Lucy won't have to undergo surgery. Thank you to all who have donated and shared their story. After everything this family has endured , we couldn't let them loose their babies.
