Hope & Strength for the Canadays

Donation protected
Christopher had spent 7 months at Loyola Hospital in Maywood, IL.  He spent 220 days there with his mother Amy by his side. Christopher was born with Pulmonary Atresia and has been facing health issues since birth.  Christopher is a Senior at DeKalb High School.   Christopher and his family have been through a lot as many know and will continue to use their amazing strength, positive attitude and hope to overcome.   Christopher lost his father, Mark,  in the summer of 2017 to a 3 1/2 year battle with cancer.  It has been especially hard for the Canaday family to go through this next battle without their amazing father, husband and friend to many.   Amy and Mark Canaday Christopher has been adjusting to the restrictions of having a new heart. The year after transplant will be very crucial for him.  Amy, Christophers mother, will be taking a one year leave of absence from work as she is Christopher's primary caregiver.  They will have multiple trips a week to Chicago for appointments.  The funds will also help with the costs of staying on campus, Ronald McDonald house and back and forth to get things for Christopher.   The Canaday family is very thankful to those who have continued to support them throughout these times.  The community of DeKalb, IL has been amazing!  The continued support has made it easier for Amy to stay by Christophers side.   Christopher's brothers, Brandon and Chad have continued to be by his side as he awaits another open heart surgery.
