Remembering Jennifer Maio

On the evening of October 10, 8 year old Jennifer Maio was found unresponsive and life flighted to Children's Hospital in Boston, MA where they found out that she was very very sick.  Just a few short days later, her parents were told that their sweet angel would not be going home. The body, although healthy and vibrant on the outside, can hide even the worst of illnesses on the inside.  And, Jennifer's brain could not fight off the illness, despite the very best efforts of the staff at Children's Hospital.   On October 15, 2015, Jennifer passed away, leaving behind a grieving family who loved her dearly.

There truly is nothing worse than this. Jennifer was loved and cherished by everyone who met her. She was smart, sassy, sporty and more. She made a difference in every life she encountered.  She will be truly missed.

The death of a child should be experienced by no one.  There is nothing that will make it better and bring her home.  Jennifer's illness was a shock not only to her family, but to her community as well.  She was truly loved by all from her parents and brother, to her classmates, team mates, church friends and more. She was an exceptional child with a heart of gold. I personally cannot be there for my friend, Jennifer's mom. I live in a different state and there is no way I can be there to hold her hand or wipe her tears. But what I can do, what we all can do to help Jennifer's family is send all of our love and prayers and support that we can to her family.  Jennifer's death is not okay.  Please pray for Jennifer's mom, dad and brother.  Send them love and prayers from near and far.  Share this message with everyone you know.  And if you are able, please donate to the Remembering Jennifer Maio fund.  The family is now facing a life without their sweet angel and should not have to be burdened by the unexpected financial strains that have followed this horrible tragedy.  While I do not know the exact amount they need, every little bit helps.  So please, give and give generously to help out the Maio family.  And pray fervently for comfort and peace for them all.  You are also welcome to leave comments for the family and your favorite memories of Jennifer. I know they would appreciate them all.

To the Maio family, God bless you and be with you during this difficult time.

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you: Not as the world do I give I to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let it be afraid." - John 14:27
